Brecht is the editor of www.macrotrends.be, Brussels-based financial newsletter trying to apply Austrian Economics to investing. He currently does research at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid under the tutelage of Prof. Dr. Philipp Bagus and Prof. Dr. Jesus Huerta de Soto and specializes in what he calls “the metaphysics of economics” – the role implicit assumptions play in explicit methodology. He is particularly interested in the phenomenon of intellectual entrepreneurship, and is convinced that economics will play a fundamental role in the general overhaul of all the sciences. Lately, he has taken an interest in German New Medicine, and working on a cyclical theory on the divine.
